Wisconsin Update #230 (2-19-21) Week-In-Review

Current data as of 2/19/21

  • 370 Hospital Admissions, 96 patients in ICU, 0 patients at the Alternate Care Facility
    • Hospital admissions are down 91 for the week (-91)
    • The total number of ICU patients decreased by 24 (-24) for the week.
    •  The total number of patients at the ACF has remained at 0 since December 25th.
  • Cumulatively there have been 558,496 positive tests in Wisconsin:
    • 4,448 positive tests reported last week, which is down 1,379, -1,379, from the previous week.
    • The 7-day average for positive tests is now 635+/day. (7-day average was 832+/day last week)
  • Deaths from COVID-19 are at 6,267 in Wisconsin.
    • 116 COVID-19 related deaths, (15) less than the week prior.
    • The 7-day average for deaths is now 17 deaths/day. (7-day average was 19 deaths/day last week)
  • 542,495 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are listed as having recovered (97.2%), 9,575 cases are still considered active (1.7%) and 6,267 patients have died (1.1%). (last updated by DHS on 2/19)
Vaccine Distribution:
  • Vaccine Distribution (as of 2/19/21)
    •  1,410,300 vaccine doses allocated to Wisconsin (+258,275 more than week prior)
    • 1,058,725 vaccines have been ordered (+157,225 more than week prior)
    • 157,225 vaccines in transit (26,425 more than week prior)
    • 1,119,705 vaccines have been administered (an increase of 218,372 since last week)
    • 314,762 Wisconsinites have received the two dose series of the current vaccines. (An increase of 101,191 since last week)

Since 65+ is the newest eligible population, and the population the state wanted to achieve progress on before moving to the next set of eligible populations, below is an update on the status of that population.

Week-In-Review “At-A-Glance”

  • Hospital admissions were down 91, -91, for the week ending February 19th.
  • Total number of ICU patients were down 24, -24, for the week ending February 19th.
  • Since December 25th there have been zero (0) patients at the Alternate Care Facility
  • There were 4,448 positive tests reported last week, which is down 1,379, -1,379, from the previous week.
  • There were 116 COVID-19 related deaths, (15) less than the week prior.
Positive Test Results

There were 4,448 positive tests reported last week, which is down 1,379, -1,379 from the previous week.
• An average of 635 positive test results per day. Was 832+/day the previous week.

  • Dane county had the highest number of new positive cases, with 620 new positives, 17 less, -17 than the previous week.
    • Milwaukee county came in with the second highest number of new cases, 608, which is 324 less, -143 than the previous week.
    • Rounding out the top five counties with the most positive new cases were;
      • Waukesha county; 300 new cases, -110 less than the previous week
      • Brown county; 185 new cases, -58 less than the previous week
      • Rock county; 156 new cases, -15 less than the previous week

Deaths
  • There were 116 COVID-19 related deaths, (15) less than the week prior.

  • Milwaukee county had 35 of the 116 deaths from the last week, which is +24 more than the number of deaths in the county reported the previous week.
    • Kenosha county reported 11 deaths, +5 more than the prior week;
    • Brown county reported 9 deaths, +6 more than the previous week;
    • Outagamie county reported 5 deaths, +4 more than the previous week.
    • Columbia, Dane, Waukesha and Winnebago county each reported 4 deaths.
