COVID-19 Wisconsin Update #87 (6-9-20 PM) 

Updated numbers from Tuesday June 9th, 2020:

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin Hospital Association released the following updated numbers for Tuesday June 9th, 2020:

  • 331Current Hospital Admissions (117 patients in ICU)
    • On Tuesday, the total number of hospital admissions reported increased by 9 since Monday (+9).
    • The total number of ICU patients reported increased by 7 since Monday (+7).
  • Cumulatively there have been 368,518 COVID-19 tests in Wisconsin;
    • 21,308 positive tests and 347,210 negative tests in Wisconsin (5.8% positive rate for the pandemic)
      • On Tuesday there were 270 positive tests reported on 13,957 tests (1.9% positive rate Tuesday)
  • Deaths from COVID-19 now total 661 in Wisconsin.
      • On Tuesday there were 15 deaths reported 
  • 14,583 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are listed as having recovered (68%), 6,063 cases are still considered active (29%) and 661 patients have died (3%). (last updated by DHS on 6/9)


Milwaukee County Issues Universal Face Mask Policy in County Facilities

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley announced today that he is issuing a “Universal Face Mask Policy.” Under the policy face masks are now required to be worn at all times by employees, contractors, vendors, volunteers, service users and the general public entering county facilities and grounds with a controlled entry point. Face masks are not required, but are highly recommended, at the Milwaukee County controlled General Mitchell International Airport, on buses and at outdoor park spaces including beer gardens. At areas where face masks are required, Milwaukee County  isworking to make disposable masks available to the public as soonas possible. The County is also working to make disposable masks available on buses for riders who choose to wear one.
