COVID-19 Wisconsin Update #240 (4-30-21) Week-In-Review

 

Week In Review

 

  • 338 Hospital Admissions and 95 patients in ICU
    • Hospital admissions were down 15 for the week (-15).
    • The total number of ICU patients decreased by 13 (-13) for the week.
  • Cumulatively there have been 598,147 positive tests in Wisconsin:
    • 4,358 positive tests reported last week, which is 218 less, (218) from the previous week.
    • The 7-day average for positive tests is now 622+/day. (7-day average was 653+/day last week)
  • Deaths from COVID-19 are at 6,823 in Wisconsin.
    • 85 COVID-19 related deaths this past week, +50 more than the week prior.
    • The 7-day average for deaths is 12 deaths/day (7-day average was 5 deaths/day last week).
  • 581,978 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are listed as having recovered (97.3%), 9,079 cases are still considered active (1.5% and -20 versus last week) and 6,823 patients have died (1.1%). (last updated by DHS on 4/30)

 

Vaccine Distribution:

 

  • Vaccine Distribution (reported as of 4/30/21 on DHS website )
    • 4,416,834 vaccines have been administered (an increase of +291,807 since last week)
    • 2,508,944 Wisconsinites (43.1%) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine series (+91,322 over last week)
    • 1,965,655 Wisconsinites (33.8%) have completed their vaccine series. (An increase of +196,249 since last week)

Positive Test Results

 

There were 4,358 new positive tests reported last week, which is a decrease of 218, (218) from the previous week.

  • An average of 622 positive test results per dayWas 653+/day the previous week.

 

 

 

Milwaukee county had the highest number of new positive cases with 782 new positives, 201 less, (201) than the previous week.

  • Dane county came in with the second highest number of new cases, 386, which is 55 less, (55) than the previous week.
  • Rounding out the top five counties with the most positive new cases were;
    • Rock county; 283 new cases, +76 more than the previous week
    • Waukesha county; 263  new cases, (10) less than the previous week
    • Racine county; 220 new cases, +47 more than the previous week

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deaths

 

  • There were 85 COVID-19 related deaths+50 more than the week prior.

 

 

 

 

    • Milwaukee county had 16 of the 85 deaths, the +9 more than reported the previous week.
      • Dane county reported 6 deaths, +3 from week prior
      • Waukesha county reported 6 deaths, +1 from week prior
      • Fond du Lac county reported 5 deaths, +5 from week prior
      • Brown county reported 5 deaths, +4 from week prior
