COVID-19 Wisconsin Update #236 (4-2-21) Week-In-Review

Week In Review

 

  • 244 Hospital Admissions and 60 patients in ICU
    • Hospital admissions were up 18 for the week (+18).
    • The total number of ICU patients increased by 3 (+3) for the week.
  • Cumulatively there have been 578,587 positive tests in Wisconsin:
    • 3,717 positive tests reported last week, which is up 457, +457, from the previous week.  
    • The 7-day average for positive tests is now 531+/day. (7-day average was 465+/day last week)
  • Deaths from COVID-19 are at 6,663 in Wisconsin. 
    • 36 COVID-19 related deaths+1 more than the week prior.
    • The 7-day average for deaths remains at 5 deaths/day, which has remained the same for the last three weeks now.
  • 564,597 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are listed as having recovered (97.6%), 7,143 cases are still considered active (1.2% and +422 versus last week) and 6,663 patients have died (1.1%). (last updated by DHS on 4/2)

    • 3,002,745 vaccine doses allocated to Wisconsin (+323,500 more than week prior)
    • 2,978,088 vaccines have been administered (an increase of +382,884 since last week)
    • 1,859,640 Wisconsinites (31.9%) have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine series (+224,663 over last week)
    • 1,121,306 Wisconsinites (19.3%) have completed their vaccine series. (An increase of +172,541 since last week)

Positive Test Results

 

There were 3,717 new positive tests reported last week, which is up 457, +457 from the previous week.  

  • An average of 531 positive test results per dayWas 465+/day the previous week.

 

 

 

Milwaukee county had the highest number of new positive cases with 832 new positives, 74 more, +74 than the previous week.

  • Dane county came in with the second highest number of new cases, 385, which is 61 more, +61 than the previous week.
  • Rounding out the top five counties with the most positive new cases were; 
    • Waukesha county; 342 new cases, (4) less than the previous week
    • St. Croix county; 175 new cases, +108 more than the previous week
    • Brown county; 150 new cases, +81 more than the previous week

 

 

 

Deaths
  • There were 36 COVID-19 related deaths+1 more than the week prior.

 

 

    • Milwaukee county each had 5 of the 36 deaths from the last week, which is (3) less than reported the previous week. 
      • Waukesha county reported 5 deaths, +1 more than prior week.
      • Brown county reported 3 deaths, the same as last week.
      • Outagamie and Winnebago county each reported 3 deaths, +3 more for each than the prior week.
