COVID-19 Wisconsin Update #214 (12-18-20) Week In Review

Updated numbers from Friday December 18th, 2020 and Week-in-Review:

  • 1,330 Hospital Admissions, 290 patients in ICU, 8 patients at the Alternate Care Facility
    • Hospital admissions are down 33 (-33) since Thursday.
    • The total number of ICU patients decreased by 8 (-8) since Thursday.
    • The total number of patients at the ACF increased by 3, (+3) since Thursday.
  • Cumulatively there have been 451,676 positive tests in Wisconsin:
      • 3,235 new positives reported on Friday
    • The 7-day average for positive tests is now 3,102+/day
  • Deaths from COVID-19 are at 4,315 in Wisconsin.
      • 60 deaths were reported on Friday
    • The 7-day average for deaths is now 46 deaths/day
  • 408,367 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are listed as having recovered (90.4%), 38,892 cases are still considered active (8.6%) and 4,315 patients have died (1.0%). (last updated by DHS on 12/18)

Positive Test Results

 

There were 21,719 positive tests reported last week, which is down 3,683, (-3,683) from the previous week.

  • An average of 3,103 positive test results per dayWas 3,628+/day the previous week.

 

 

 

Milwaukee county had the highest number of new positive cases, with 4,058 new positives, 460 less, (-460), than the previous week.

  • Waukesha county came in with the second highest number of new cases, 2,044, which is 191 less, (-191) than the previous week.
  • Rounding out the top five counties with the most positive new cases were;
    • Dane county; 1,287 new cases, (135) less than the previous week
    • Racine county; 864 new cases, (32) less than the previous week
    • Rock county; 826 new cases, +177 more than the previous week

 

Deaths

 

  • There were 324 COVID-19 related deaths(42) less than the week prior.

 

 

    • Milwaukee county had 46 of the 324 deaths from the last week, which is +6 more than the number of deaths in the county reported the previous week.
      • Dane county reported 24 deaths, +14 more than last week;
      • Waukesha county reported 23 deaths, (31) less than last week;
      • Racine county reported 22 deaths, (4) less than the previous week;
      • Kenosha county reported 18 deaths, same as the previous week.
