COVID-19 Wisconsin Update #208 (12-12-20)   

Updated numbers from Friday December 11th, 2020:

  • 1,448 COVID-19 Hospital patients, 328 ICU patients, 9 patients at the Alternate Care Facility
    • The total number of COVID-19 Hospital patients decreased by 36, (-36), since Thursday.
    • The total number of ICU patients decreased by 4, -4, since Thursday.
    • The total number of patients at the ACF decreased by 2, (-2), since Thursday.
  • Cumulatively there have been 429,957 positive tests in Wisconsin:
      • 3,858 new positives reported on Friday
    • The 7-day average for positive tests is now 3,628+/day
  • Deaths from COVID-19 are at 3,991 in Wisconsin.
      • 47 deaths were reported on Friday
    • The 7-day average for deaths is now 52 deaths/day
  • 375,627 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are listed as having recovered (87.4%), 50,264 cases are still considered active (11.7%) and 3,991 patients have died (0.9%). (last updated by DHS on 12/11)

Positive Test Results

There were 24,402 positive tests reported last week, which is down 3,316, (-3,316) from the previous week.

  • An average of 3,628 positive test results per dayWas 4,102+/day the previous week.



Milwaukee county had the highest number of new positive cases, with 4,518 new positives, 780 less, (-780), than the previous week.

  • Waukesha county came in with the second highest number of new cases, 2,235, which is 32 more, (+32) than the previous week.
  • Rounding out the top five counties with the most positive new cases were;
    • Dane county; 1,422 new cases, (776) less than the previous week
    • Racine county; 896 new cases, +109 more than the previous week
    • Brown county; 853 new cases, (153) less than the previous week


  • There were 366 COVID-19 related deaths, (2) less than the week prior.


    • Waukesha county had 54 of the 366 deaths from the last week, which is +24 more than the number of deaths in the county reported the previous week.
      • Milwaukee county reported 40 deaths, the same # as last week;
      • Racine county reported 26 deaths, +1 more than last week;
      • Kenosha county reported 18 deaths, +4 more than the previous week;
      • Sheboygan county reported 15 deaths, +5 more than the previous week.
